"Happy Divali....now GET DOWN!"
The last explosion went off maybe 5 minutes ago. Always the same...a bright flash and a massive boom! It's not a war zone though it's Divali, the Hindu festival that celebrates Ram slaying a demon by setting off fireworks even South Carolina would outlaw. We're still in Palolem, Goa....predominatly Christian. I can only imagine how they're kicking off in Deli! It has been another set of wonderful experiences here (hiking down the beach for two hour and forging a river to find a completly empty beach inhabited only by endagered turtles, for one) but we will move on soon. Radka and I are in full on traveler mode at this point having tradded in most of our garments for native attire and nursing several bangs and bruises that come with travel in India. The Kashmiri trincket sellers and the Karnatakan gypsee women don't faze us anymore, cows on the beach seem normal and we're ready for more. It's south to Gokarn next....big time Shanti. Happy Davali!

Happy Divali to you two too!
I just got off the phone talking to Grandmother on one line and Mom on the other reading them your ongoing Travelblog entrees from 11/8 and 11/12. Reading to GM with her hearing difficulty is quite interesting, especially reading about the Shiva Temple, Krishna Temple, etc., etc., (too many Temples were putting her to sleep). She also questioned whether you really wrote s-h-i-t or did I interject it into the T-blog. She knew her Grandson would never have written that, so it was easier to plead guilty than defend innocense.
I think you made a wise decision not to take the future Manali trip. Each part of your journey sounds more facinating and I'm sure all who read it share in your joy. I especially enjoy looking up on Google (on the bottom of your Travelblog) the places you are visiting. Each one seems more facinating.
I am very proud of you both and love that you are such great ambassadors for the USA and Czech Republic.
