Happy Birthday!
I've been meaning to sit down and collect my thoughts for a new entry for a while now but haven't had the time required to do so. But there is one thing that needs to be said today...
Happy Birthday Dad!
I was trying to think what I could do for you from all the way over here. I know you haven't seen my face in a while so I thought I'd send along this photo (admitedly, not the best present ;-). This was taken in Varkala Beach, Kerala; India. It was taken on my digi-cam that somehow survived being water logged in the Tsunami. So... I hope your taking the day off and chilling somewhere with mom... thanks for everything and I love you! Hope to see you soon. love->t.

Hi Tee and Radka,
Perhaps a little late, but a very, very BIG thank you for my birthday entry. The note and picture made for a perfect day (except for the hernia surgery discomfort). 15 years ago when I had a simular operation, it seemed like within a week I was nearly completely mended. All is good now 2/25, as I'm back working on an almost normal schedule.
This past week I've been working on tickets to Bangkok to visit for your birthday. It has been quite frustrating, as between Orbitz, Priceline, Hotwire, Travelzoo, Travelocity, etc., etc., etc. as well as pricing numerous airlines that fly from Norfolk, BWI and JFK to Bangkok; I seemed to take one step forward and two steps back.
My most promising trip and price was Northwest Airlines from Norfolk to Bangkok for $865.00 roundtrip which included taxes.
This is about the same price Sharon at Airbrokers quoted from JFK. Last night I proceeded to purchase the tickets, only to find out that they were now $1,450.00 (a more than significant increase). Tonight I went online to try again to find a somewhat reasonable priced ticket and after 3 hours of searching $969.00 seemed like the best price. Not being convinced, I pursued different airlines and happened onto Cathey Pacific's "DEAL OF THE MONTH" - New York or LA to Bangkok.
Making a long story short, We leave JFK 3/26 at 9:30 PM and arrive in Bangkok at 10:30 AM 3/28.
On 9:50 AM 4/11 we depart Bangkok to JFK arriving 4/11 at 9:40 PM. I guess we lose a day over and gain a day returning.
I THINK WE DID OK AS THE TICKETS ROUNDTRIP ARE $580.00 + $91.25 TAXES FOR A TOTAL OF $671.25.
THE WONDERS OF THE INTERNET!!!
We are especially excited to share this special birthday with you in view of all that you two have experienced.
Again thanks for my birthday greeting. You are both always in our thoughts and prayers.
Mom, Busker and teli send their Love.
Dad
