Bombay to Bangkok to Laos PDR, p.d.q.

After crossing a few international borders, securing the appropriate visas, taking too many tuk tuks and a final bus ride with a man with an AK-47 riding shotgun (oh...that's why they call it that), we arrived in Luang Phabang with our good friends, Tom and Ursi. It's been great to see them again and the relatively relaxed pace of Laos has been a welcome change from the road. The town is still quaint with it's remenants of French collonial charm and Mekong river side location, but things change and a good secret becomes well known in a few years. The bargains are gone, or at least much more difficult to locate. I know there is still a lot to discover in the surrounding areas and we'll wade through the upmarket cafes and b&bs until we find it. More to come...

Hey Buddie! Coming to you from Charlotte, NC...Brandie (olde east carolinian)

After a wonderful weekend visit with Miss Karmen, I have learned that I can keep abreast of your wonderful journey. And I must say I have spent the past two days of my lunch hour reading your journal and loving every minute of it. I can't imagine how you guys must feel being able to experience all this wonderful worldly knowledge. I just wanted to send you guys a little 'hello' on your journey. I wish you two all the best and will send more love again soon. Tee-can you believe it will be two years on April 12th that you were at my wedding!?!?! And breaking down with your bad self. Love you both, Brandie and Matt, too! :)
