Sweet Sixteen

Today I had another uniquely czech experience...getting a hair cut in the kitchen by Liba. I probably would have been a bit nervous were I not about to leave for India in a week and the result not being that important. As it were, I was up for the gamble. After getting me seated on a stool she started straight in with a pair of standard house scissors and with out the standard wash and rinse. I was more than a bit nervous and a little self concious with the whole family looking on, discusing the process. I bit from some comedian pops into my head about how they hated hair cuts because they felt so helpless and emasculated while sitting there, traped. I wouldn't go that far but it was still a bit strange. Five minutes later and Liba announces in czech (she only speaks to me in czech) she was finished! "Now you look Sweet Sixteen," Radka's father tells me, his only english apparently informed by Paul Anka songs. As for the out come...the only thing different between Liba's effort and one of Frisco's finest was 45 minutes and $50 saved. Nice one, Liba.
